“In the rush to return to normal, use this time to work which parts of normal are worth rushing back to,” said Dave Hollis. Mar 29, 2020
For our intents and purposes, here are my big questions for you to consider.
How did you normally use, give away, or spend (consciously or unconsciously)
your time, space, and energy?
[pause for dramatic effect]
Are you rushing back to how you used, gave away or spent your time, space and energy?

Consider this an invitation into a contemplative space.
What ‘normal’ was working for you before the pandemic?
Here are some questions to consider:
~ Do you recognize when you feel ‘drained’ or notice when your energy is leaking because of someone or something? Do you experience other symptoms? Such as headaches after meetings or conversations?
~ Do you say ‘yes’ to commitments when the truth is, you don’t want to? Is it the activity/event and/or the person/people involved? Or both? Do you know why you disregard your truth?
~ Do you prioritize your aspirations, what lights you up, your “Health” with a capital ‘H’?
~ Do you make time for your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing?
In essence, what in your actions, behaviours and thoughts need some house-cleaning or house-keeping, maybe some purging and releasing as we operate under the COVID umbrella?
Has the pandemic and the adjusted living situation given you a little oomph or juice to think about what you’d like to change? Has it shed light on what you appreciate or value and want more of?
As an Emotional Empowerment Coach, and as life wheelhouses go, I’m always keeping your mental and emotional wellbeing paramount in my thoughts.
Have you given much thought to how you spend and use your time, space, and energy and its effect on your wellbeing?
Whether you feel like you manage your mental and emotional self well, or not,
the first and vital step is always Awareness.
~ Are you dialled in good boundaries, a solid communication style, living authentically in accordance with your hopes, wishes and desires etc?
~ Are you staying curious, inspired, hopeful?
~ Are you loving deeply?
If there are some things that you feel needs shifting and changing:
Are you ready to scrap all the Have Tos & Shoulds that never suited you anyway,
and empower yourself to a place of self-trust and unconditional love?
No matter the learning curve?
I’ll give you a minute to reflect about that… this isn’t an all or nothing deal rather, could you step up for yourself and look at where you have ‘have-tos’ and ‘shoulds’ in your life and contemplate the cost of those decisions to your mental and emotional health?
Remember… one step at a time, one area of our life at a time, one thought at time.
Treat your introspective quest with a soft gaze and a kind heart.
Ask yourself what could be reprioritized, recharged, reinvigorated for the ‘you’ that needs to feel alive, vibrant and inspired.
So when you think about returning to some typical freedoms (aka. normal), will you have the courage to say ‘no’ to the behaviours, things or people that aren’t in your best interest, alignment, truth, to live and create the today you want? The future you want, today?
Three ideas to keep in mind to keep you company in the contemplative space:
~ Prioritize how you want to feel more of and see where that leads you.
~ Get a good and trustworthy friend involved, work with a coach or counsellor, journal, stare off into the abyss, talk to yourself in front of the mirror – get curious about how you can make the tipsy turvy world work better for you by bettering the parts of you that need some patience, understanding, care, love and courage.
~ Let the need to control go and allow the how’s and why’s to appear and surface when and because you are ready.
There are a lot of questions I asked you in this blog and if you are ready to create space for yourself in this way, reflect and contemplate. Set intentions. Keep learning about yourself.
The clarity might astound you!
COVID or no COVID, the space and time to reclaim the parts of your life and psyche that need or want a restart button. The global pandemic kind of just handed you one – if you want it.
It’s not a race, but a moment to be your own philosopher and healer.
Slowly and deliberately, one step or thought at a time.
With so much love and support,
